“We know Sen. Edwards will be supporting Sen. Obama…any minute now….”

The most amusing thing since Sen. John Edwards suspended his campaign earlier today, has been watching all the talking heads betting the house on their presumption that Sen. Edwards will throw his support to Sen. Obama.

I remind readers of this exchange when Sen. Edwards said Obama was living in a
“Never, never land”
back in late December.

I also remember Sen. Obama’s reference to Unions as ‘special interests” after Senator Edwards received support from 2 large Union based 527s.

Paul Krugman wrote an article in the NYT just before Christmas that suggested the real fight, back then, was between Sen. Edwards and Sen. Obama. Read it now

At any rate, the issue, before we were subjected to the media’s race-baiting diversion was whether Sen Obama’s plans compromised too much with the very corporations, Big Pharma, theocrats etc that both Sen. Edwards and Sen Clinton said would have to be fought.

As if these differences (none of which any of these talking heads seemed the least familiar with) were not enough – I’ll have one final thing to bear in mind when deciding whether Sen. Edwards will support either Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama:

Elizabth Edwards

Any bets?
