Predictably, Sen. Ted Kennedy endorses the Irish candidate….

Ireland-America 4ever

It should come as no surprise that Sen. Ted Kennedy has decided to endorse Sen. Barack O’Bama, whose great-great-great grandfather, Fulmuth Kearney, fled the town of Moneygall during the height of the Irish famine years.

By playing the Irish card (despite the fact that Kearney was Church of Ireland instead of Catholic) Sen. Kennedy and his niece Caroline, are obviously hoping to persuade Irish-Americans of all faiths and political persuasions to come together and support their native son.

Talking head on no-talk-show-in-particular condemned the Senator for playing identity politics: “America has moved on and while this kind of pandering to Irish voters might have worked for his brother in 1960, Americans are no longer so easily manipulated.”
