As for the Iowa results, I can’t say I’m in the least surprised. Bear in mind, that even with all the hulabalu, Iowa winners rarely go on to win the nomination, so this close race we’re seeing is far, far from over.

BTW, has Chris Matthews begun to lose his mind? I haven’t watched him for a while but there he was hosting Iowa coverage on MSNBC, fulminating and ranting. He was far more incoherent than I’d remembered him and wondered is he really in some kind of spiral. His antagonism towards Senator Clinton is so petulent that he doesn’t even try and disguise it anymore with policy issues. His man crush on Rudy Giuliani is terrifying, so absolute is his devotion. He even roped Giuliani in for a segment and never once actually cited the pathetic showing he was getting (A reported 2% at that stage. Even Fox-censored “fringe” Republican, Ron Paul was tallying in at 11%, so the contrast was hard to miss.)

Anyway, am I alone in seeing this behavior in Matthews?
